The DDL Wizard reverse engineers the contents of an Oracle export file and extracts the DDL code contained within. All DDL objects in the export file are displayed via an easy to use and intuitive graphical user interface. Comprehensive SQL re-build scripts and an HTML documentation tree can be generated at the push of a button.
What Does DDL Wizard Do?
The DDL Extract Wizard will reverse engineer Oracle Export files and will extract, display and manipulate the DDL CREATE statements contained within. It is read-only on the export files, installs on a Windows PC and is lightning fast.
Why Do You Want to extract the DDL from Export files?
Generating the scripts which can rebuild the DDL structure of a database is a common Oracle database maintenance problem. The DDL Extract Wizard is far quicker and easier than a dbms_metadata script and works on export files created by any version of the Oracle database. Simply create an export file, use the DDL Extract Wizard to read it, and the correctly formatted DDL of each object is immediately available without the need to write complex code.
What else can the DDL Wizard do Besides Build DDL Scripts?
It can also generate an HTML documentation tree (example) of the schema structure. A short summary of the many useful things the DDL Extract Wizard can do can be found on the Quick Info page.
How much does the DDL Extract Wizard Cost?
It is freeware. The DDL Wizard software was written to provide the purchasers of our DataBee subsetting software with the ability to build appropriately sized empty target schemas. The DDL Wizard has proved to be so useful, we have made it generally available at no charge.
